     The Scene I Viewed from my Bedroom window

 It was on the Sunday of March. I get up early in the morning as usual. There are many trees around our building compound. I can see Coconut trees, Mango trees, Hibiscus trees, etc. from my bedroom window. Also, there is a road outside the building and on the opposite side, there are many shops. Also, there is a park across the road. I took my wash and came again.

The Early Morning

I opened the window the cold breeze of wind entered into the room. I feel very fresh. Then I looked outside I just pleased to see the red hibiscus flower blossoms on the tree. The birds were chirping and flying here and there. The mango tree also had blossoms on it and its fragrance was spread everywhere. Then I noticed one nest on the mango tree. There were birdies in the nest peeping out of the nest. It was a really pleasant sight. I saw that the road was not much crowded. The buses and other vehicles were running across the road. The milkmen and the newspaper delivery boys were busy doing their work. Also the sweepers, the garbage collector were doing their work. Some hawkers are seen outside the park. Some people were taking the morning walks in the park. Some were doing jogging on the path around the park, some people doing yoga in the park. Children were playing in the park. Some stray dogs were seen on the footpath. Really, this early morning scene made my mind fresh and I feel energetic.

         The afternoon

         After having my lunch in the afternoon I went into my room. I just saw outside. It was very bright and hot. Everything was silent. The birds were resting on the branches. The birdies were inside the nest. The red hibiscus flowers were not there on the tree. I saw only buds and hardly one or two flowers. The fragrance of mango blossoms was still there. There were not many vehicles running across the road. Hardly two or three persons were at the bus stop. The shops were closed. No one was there in the park except two persons who were sleeping on the benches under the tree. Hardly, any pedlar had seen on the road. I saw two stray dogs sleeping in front of the shops. The security of the building opposite building was yawning. Only one squirrel was making noise. By seeing all this I also felt sleepy and took a nap for a while.

        

         The evening scene I viewed

         In the evening my mother gave me tea and some snacks. Now again I felt to see outside so I looked out. Now I saw many buds on the hibiscus tree. The fragrance of the mango blossoms was still there. The birds were started returning to their nest. The birdies were peeping out and making noise. Now many people were there on the road. I saw many people on the stop waiting for the bus. Now so many vehicles running across the road. Many people I saw in the shops. The park was also crowded. There were many children now playing in the park. Many hawkers I could see outside the park. The gardener was watering the plants in the parks. There was much crowd everywhere in the evening time.

          On that day I had seen the scene at a different time of the day. But I like an early morning scene which made me fresh and energetic.

The World Yoga Day

       The World Yoga Day has been celebrated on 21^st June every year since 2015. The World Yoga Day has been declared by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in the UN General Assembly held in 2014. Yoga is originally from India. Yoga is the practice of physical exercise in ancient India. Yoga is the practice of physical, mental, and spiritual maintenance. The world yoga day is celebrated to increase the awakening of the people regarding yoga.

The need for Yoga  

Our life became so busy and restless in such a way that we do not have time to take care of health. Most of the people in the world are doing secondary work. Due to the facility of computers, the internet, smartphones, etc. people can do most of the work just by sitting in one place constantly from any place in the world. In the offices, one person can do the job of the four-person. Also, people get the habit of eating junk food, snacks, fast food, etc. any time when they feel hungry. But this results in weakening the life of the community power. Thus they get attack by health problems such as body pain, back pain, headache, diabetes, obesity, coronary heart disease, renal problem, brain stroke, paralysis, hypertension, stress, etc. The solution to overcome all these problems is Yoga. Yoga now became an essential part of our life. By practicing yoga daily at least for 20 minutes, 30 minutes, or 1 hr., you may keep yourself fit and energetic.

Pranayama in Yoga ( breathing exercise)

         Pranayama

 ( breathing exercise) in yoga is very important which can do for in 20 minutes or in your accordance. Yoga keeps the balance between mental and physical health. Before doing pranayama you must sit in the correct posture. You just close your eyes and chant ‘Om’ in rhythm at least for 10 times or if you can, you may chant for 21 times. By doing this you get peace of mind and concentration. There are many types of pranayamas. Out of which the three pranayamas namely Bhastrika, Kapal Bhati and Anulom Vilom are also enough to keep you fit mentally and physically.    

Bhastrika

         In Bhastrika pranayama, you inhale air with both the nostrils in medium speed and exhale it in the same way. You can do this pranayama at least for 5 to 10 minutes. This pranayama helps to increase the oxygen level in the body and you feel fresh and energetic. 

Kapal Bhati

         In Kapal Bhati pranayama, you exhale air through the nose continuously without inhaling air in between. While exhaling the air you find the movement of your stomach going in and out. This pranayama will help you to increase the immunity power and also improve the function of the stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, spleen, uterus, ovary, gastric glands, etc. It also helps in reducing fats, cholesterol, and balancing the sugar level in the blood.

Anulom Vilom

         Anulom Vilom is one of the popular pranayamas. In this pranayama, you close your right side nostril by your right hand’s thumb and inhale air with left nostril. Now open the right nostril and close the left nostril by the two middle fingers of the right hand and exhale air through right nostrils. Now inhale the air through right nostrils close it by the thumb and open the left nostrils and exhale air through it. This process completes one cycle of Anulom Vilom. This pranayama you can do at least 15 minutes. This pranayama helps you to keep your nervous system healthy. The function of the brain as well as the function of all sensory organs improves and also normalizes the blood pressure. In fact, the whole body organs remain healthy.   

         Thus all these three pranayamas are very useful. This pranayama activates all the cells in our body. You will feel energetic and fresh for the whole day. You can do your work tirelessly and confidently. All negative thoughts and nervousness will remove and you will remain fit and happy. If you don’t have enough time you can do any one of the pranayamas given above, also get the same result. But you must do pranayamas regularly to get good results.

Suryanamaskar – a complete yoga

         Suryanamaskar (sun salutation) to bow in front of the sun. Suryanamaskar is one of the most important physical exercises in yoga. In ancient times, the Rishi (sage of Vedic period) used to do Suryanamaskar to pay devotion to the sun by chanting the mantras of the sun. Suryanamaskar is a full-body exercise. It includes eight asanas (physical exercise) in sequence such as (Pranamasana, Urdhva Hastasana, Phalakasana, Chaturanga Dandasana, Urdhva Mukhasana, Uttanasana, and again back to Pranamasanna). Since all these asanas motivate all the body parts such as head, eyes, neck, shoulders, arms, legs, back, waist, spine, etc. All asanas are related to spines so our body becomes flexible. We remain active forever. The regular practice of Suryanamaskar regulates breathing, improves blood circulation of the body, increase the concentration, reduce stress, reduce excess weight, and fats around the stomach. As you practice Suryanamaskar you need not do any other asanas. Thus Suryanamaskar is very beneficial to us.

The World Yoga Day 2020

       In this year the whole world is fighting against the COVID-19. So the prime minister Narendra Modi advised doing yoga at home. If all family members decide to do yoga together every member remains fit and healthy. This is today’s need to increase immunity power. If you practice yoga regularly you never get affected by any virus-like COVID-19 and you and your family stay safe. Thus the citizens of India followed the advice of prime minister Narendra Modi and performed yoga at home.

  

         Thus yoga plays a remarkable role in our life. For the beginner who wishes to do yoga learn it properly from any yoga guru(teacher) or yoga instructor. Adopt yoga and live healthy life.

The Hungry Bitch

        One afternoon when I returned home from my school, I found a large crowd of people gathered outside the entrance of my building. I was shocked to see the crowd. Everyone was saying not to go inside the building. My mother also told me not to come up. I got confused why the people are saying like this.

         I asked one uncle about it. Then he told me about the bitch who always lying on the place at the entrance of my building. But she knows everyone and never harms anybody.

         She was pregnant and she gave birth to three cute puppies just before half an hour I reach there. I came to know that one uncle of my building who went to the market was entering the building, the bitch barked loudly and tried to attack a bag of the uncle. The uncle was confused and didn’t understand anything that happened suddenly. He was so frightened that he ran into his friend’s house and locked the door. After that when anyone comes nearby, she was barking loudly in furious and was trying to attack every person. So everyone was standing out and the crowd gathered to see what was happened.

         The people were frightened. Thus, three hours passed. Then one of the uncles staying the nearby building came down. He brought some slices of bread mix with milk and he kept that bowl in front of her from a distance with the help of a stick. She was so hungry that she ate all the food quickly. Now she felt better and sat calmly. After that, she fed her puppies, and then she slept fast asleep. People slowly went to their house. As she was hungry she didn’t understand anything due to hunger. She just wanted to eat and when she ate stomachful, she felt better and calm down. But after this event, she never behaves like this manner. Hunger was the main reason for her behavior. Hunger makes anyone behave violently though it is an animal or human being.

Moral of the story 

Hunger is a very bad thing. So we must feed hungry people and as well as stray animals.

 What is Vatpurnima?

‘Vatpurnima’ is one of the Hindu festival specially celebrated by married women. [Vat means banyan tree and Purnima means the full moon day]. This festival comes on the full moon day of the month of ‘Jyeshtha’ of the Hindu calendar every year.

         How does Vatpurnima celebrate?

Vatpurnima is the festival celebrated by married women for the good health and long life for their husbands. On this day they worship banyan trees. They bring all the things required for worship. The fruits like mango, jackfruit, and also other forest fruits like Jamun, karwand, etc. and any sweet or they may also take sugar for pooja. First, they tie a thread to the banyan tree and then winding the thread by taking rounds around the banyan tree. They may take 7, 9, 11, or 108 rounds around the banyan tree according to their capacity and wish. When they complete their last round they tied the other end of the thread to the tree.

After completing the rounds they worship the banyan tree by letting Diya and incense stick and offer it fruits, sweets, etc. Also, they give all the things brought for pooja to the five married women which are called a ‘van’ in Marathi language [van means all the things taken for the pooja and the pieces of the fruits to be kept on the leaf of the banyan tree]. They also offer the van in front of the Tulsi plant(holy basil) and to the God in the Mandir in their house [Mandir means the place where idols or photos of God's place in the house]. Also, they gave van to their husband, an elderly person in the family, and take their blessings.

        What is the importance of banyan tree in                      Vatpurnima?

Friends, you may think so far why only a banyan tree is used in this festival. Yes, banyan tree has special importance from the ancient India. For this, there is one mythological story that happened under the banyan tree. The story is to be said as follows.

Once upon a time, there was a king named Ashwapati’. The king was very generous and kind. He had a daughter named ‘Savitri’. She was very beautiful, kind, and intelligent. When she has grown up the king decided to marry her. He told Savitri to find the life partner of her choice. So Savitri set out to seep her life partner by taking some ministers with her. She went to the forest and stayed there in the cottage of sages [rishi] and from there she started her work. She traveled so much and after a few days, she returned home.

The king asked her about her search. She told him that she had chosen Satyawan as her life partner. He was staying in the forest with his parents because his father had lost his kingdom as he was defeated in the war. At that time Maharshi Narada [the devotee of Lord Vishnu chanting Narayana Narayana continuously, the name of Lord Vishnu] present in the court of king Ashvapati. The king asked him about Satyawan. He told him that Satyawan is good but he had a very short life. Now he will live only for one year. The king was shocked when he heard this. He told Savitri to select any other person for her. But Savitri refused to do so. She told that a woman can choose her partner only once in her life. So Savitri married to Satyawan and went to the forest with him. As Savitri knew about the life of Satyawan. She always prays to God for his life. One year passed in this way and the last day of Satyawan’s life appeared. Savitri was praying God often. On that day Satyawan wanted to go to the forest to bring the wood. But Savitri didn’t allow to go him alone. She took the permission of her father-in-law and went to the forest with Satyawan. Satyawan started cutting the branches of the tree. Suddenly he felt something strange like giddiness. So he came down from the tree and told Savitri about his feeling. Savitri told him to lay down for some time and kept his head on her laps. Savitri was very frightened and keeps on praying God. But after within a few minutes, Satyawan got unconscious and died after some time. So the messenger of Yama [the God of Death] came to take the soul of Satyawan. But Savitri didn’t allow them to take her husband’s soul. After trying for a while they went back and told Yama the whole story. So Yama himself came to take Satyawan’s soul. Still, Savitri didn’t allow to do so. Yama explained to her the secret of the death and he took Satyawan’s soul and started going, Savitri also started going behind him. Yama told her to go back but she didn’t listen to him and keeps on requesting him to give back her husband’s soul. Now Yama told her instead of Satyawan’s soul, he will fulfill her three wishes. So he asked her to tell him her wishes. Savitri agreed to this condition. The first wish she told him that her father-in-law would get back his eyes. Yama fulfilled her wish instantly. The second wish she told him that her father-in-law would get his kingdom which he had lost in the war. Yama granted her wish too. The third wish she told him that she wanted a son who would look after the kingdom of her father-in-law. Yama said Tathastu [means Sanskrit word for Yes] to complete her wish and he started walking on his way. Savitri ran after him and asked him how could she get a son without her husband. Now Yama was confused but he was also pleased to see the love of Savitri about her husband. So he had returned Satyawan’s soul and blessed both of them.

In this way, by her talent Savitri back her husband and returned home happily. All this event took place under the banyan tree. So the banyan tree has more importance in the festival of Vatpurnima.

         Celebration of Vatpurnima 2020.

In this year 2020, the whole world gets affected due to COVID 19. There was lockdown everywhere. The things need for Vatpurnima pooja were not available. But still, all women celebrated Vatpurnima happily. They used the things available at home. As they couldn’t go out to worship they worshipped any other tree or potted plant they had by imagining it as a banyan tree. Thus they celebrated Vatpurnima at their home only.  

         Environment and Vatpurnima

                 In big cities sometimes the banyan tree is not available nearby or sometimes the working woman wants to go to a job so they did not get time to go out to worship the banyan tree. So they bring the branch of the banyan tree and worship it. On this occasion, some people cut down the branches of the banyan tree and leaves and sell them. But this harms the environment. The banyan tree is a very huge plant. It lasts for long life. It has many branches spreading around. The stem of the banyan tree is very strong and roots are also spread under the ground at a long distance. Therefore this stood firmly though they happen any natural calamities such as cyclone, earthquake, strong winds, flood, heavy rainfall, etc. This tree looks very beautiful and very useful, too. It gives a large amount of oxygen and also controls pollution. It has many medicinal uses. It is also the shelter of many birds and insects and the resting point of many travelers, many other animals, etc. It is very good for women’s health. In the ancient period, women were not allowed to go out. So behalf of such occasion they used to adorn themselves and go out to worship the banyan tree. So that they may spend that much time under the banyan tree and the ritual of worshipping banyan tree is a very good thing so that the women may get good health. This year Vatpurnima was on the 5^th of June which is also celebrated as The Environment Day. It may be coincidently Vatpurnima and Environment Day awakened the women regarding the importance of the environment and their responsibility to keep the environment clean and healthy.

         Friends,  I would like to tell you that you celebrate the festivals merely but don’t harm the environment. If you don’t have the banyan tree nearby, bring one seedling of the banyan tree and plant it somewhere on the open space nearby and take care till it grows well. So you and your other friends can worship it.

       ‘A man is known by the company he keeps’ means a man makes friends he like the most may be they are good or bad a man is also known by the others.

A man is social in nature. He always find the people who have same thoughts, same interest like him. Then he make friendship with them. Sometimes they do any good job together or they may start a business or any activity they like. But if the people he met are good then they may do any good thing. Then a man is also known to be a good man and get respected by the others. But sometimes some people may take an advantage of any person and make friendship to him. At that time a person may did not understand how his friends are. But when the people come to know about the person and his company his reputation in the society goes down. so though you are good but the company you make may good or bad people always think about you like them. I would like to give an example of a boy named Piyush. He was very good in studies till 7^th standard. But as he promoted to the next class some of his friends decides to divert his mind from study because they were jealous about Piyush. so they tried so much and get succeed to spoiled Piyush. Now Piyush learnt to tell lies, bunk the school, he loss his concentration in studies and not listening his parents, too. In this way the boy who was known to be a scholar and had respected by everyone and by all the teachers in the school. Now he has known to be a very bad by everyone due to the changes in his behavior and bad company he keeps. so friends I would like to suggest you that judge a person before making friends. You focus in your target and get respect in the society.

A thing of Beauty is a joy forever

The proverb ‘A thing of Beauty is a joy forever’ means when we see any beautiful things which gives us  pleasant heart content happiness forever. We feel to see these beautiful things oftenly.

For example, we see so many natural phenomenons occur at certain period of time such as rainbow which we see in rainy season, waterfall  falling from the rocks, the early morning apple sun rise, sunset seen from the hill station, the blossoming of flowers, the sea waves, the green grass grown on the ground etc. The all are the beautiful things which everyone like to see them and enjoy them. The site of all those things give us the peace of mind. If suppose in our life we feel loneliness, nervousness or sometimes we go in depression by any means then all those memorable things help us to live happy. So don’t forget these memorable things.

         In India, there are so many beauty spots to which the tourist loves to visit. On visiting those places we always remember the phrases

A burnt child dreads the fire

The burnt child dreads the fire is a very well known proverb. The meaning of this proverb is very easy to understand. Once a person had any bad experience or mishappens in his life he never turned back to get the same situation to be happened again and again.

One day a boy was returning home from the school with his mother. It was raining heavily. The water logged on the street. The people find it difficult to walk on the road. The boy suddenly fell down and starts flowing away with the water. His mother started shouting for help. The boy was crying due to fear. He thought now he will never come back. Some people saw this and they caught the boy and saved him. But from that day onwards the boy never goes out when it rains heavily. He didn’t like to go to school on that day. The boy who likes to play in the rain water, he had such a fear that he dislike to go out when there is heavy rain.

Handsome is as handsome Does. Never judge any person by external appearance. Always know the person by its character. The person having good qualities is the real Handsome. Sometimes a person may be good looking having very good personality, looking healthy always gets attracted by the people. They would like his company but when they come to know about his conduct they disappointed and hatred him. They didn’t even like to talk to him for a while. On the other hand, a person is not be good looking or ugly but not having good personality but still people like so much.

Because of his good conduct, good qualities, helpful nature and his talent people always impressed by him. The people like to follow such person. Though he is not so handsome but he became the real hero  
                 of the people.

Friends always think while making friendship with anybody. Learn to judge a person from his conduct. So an external appearance to be Handsome but his good   characters always makes him Handsome.
